I’m back, witches! (And non witches, obviously.)

What? I’m alive? After all these months, OK, years, away? Of course I am! I will not get into the hussle and bustle of the last three years, but suffice to say that I had a lot on my plate, what with familiarising myself with a full-time teaching job and all that goes with it, the various issues coming with said full-time teaching post (the least of which being the lack of time and extreme exhaustion), and real life, of course.

But here I am, with a schedule for my blogging time because of said full-time teacher job. For those wondering, I have been teaching third grade for the last four years, having taught fourth grade the year before that, always at the same school.

Also, for the last a little over two years, I’ve been a cat mum without a cat, as Mambo has gone over the Rainbow Bridge, where he is likely doing all sorts of happy kitty shenanigans. I am still trying to convince my landlady to allow me to have a new familiar, because a house without a familiar is extremely empty. Thankfully, there are plants, but they are not very talkative, or cuddly.

What is happening with me, reading-wise?

Well, nothing out of the ordinary, if you ask me. I’m always as avid a reader as I’ve always been, am still an ARC reader for several authors (the same authors as before minus Gena Showalter, who has redirected her review team to other platforms), and have become a beta reader for Robyn Peterman, which is always an absolute honour and pleasure. What can I say: I love finding booboos in books so that no bad things happen to my author! (Yes, I know how rash some can be when they find booboos in books, and since Robyn is also a dear friend, I do it all with great pleasure… and laughter, obviously!)

I still do my yearly Goodreads Challenge, which is, today, telling me that I am a whopping nine books behind schedule, at 207 finished books out of 300. (Note: Holy cow! I just now realised that I’m over 200 books read for the year! No, I did not know because I hadn’t checked this particular statistic for quite some time apart from the nine behind schedule, so I am the first one surprised.)

I am not reading any less, both with my eyes and with my ears, but because of my (often more than) full-time job, I have to schedule time for blogging and reviewing books, which means that unless I have a review to write that really cannot wait, I will limit my blogging to the weekends, today being an exception caused by an overly long nap yesterday.

I will still share my posts on my socials, with BlueSky being the addition to the lot. So if you want to discuss books, tennis, hockey, politics, education, books, music, books, and the likes, this is the place to find me.
