Please excuse me while I laugh at myself

I said it: I am swamped with work right now, and it’s normal. Planning, teaching, marking, planning, email parents, etc. It hasn’t stopped for the last month and it won’t stop until the Christmas holidays, which is only normal and makes me pretty happy.

However, I did not expect that I would be so swamped with work as to forget that I book I pre-ordered was coming out today. Sure, I did said pre-order in February, but that is no excuse when it is a book from one of my favourite authors.

In other words, Darynda Jones’s second Paranormal Women’s Fiction book, Bewitched, came out this morning and I had completely forgotten about it!

But talk about a lovely surprise to see the book had magically appeared in my Kindle, just in time for my morning commute to work! All the better because I was wondering what I should be reading during this week. Why? Because I prefer reading lighter things during weekdays, and Darynda’s books are among those lighter things. Her humour cracks me up to no end. And then there’s Roane, whom I’ve been missing for over six months. Hey, a girl is allowed as many book boyfriends as she wishes and the Scottish wolf is definitely one of them!

I’m currently (at 7 PM on release day, after a big day at work) a quarter through the book and it’s a good thing that I do have this “pesky thing called work” because it will make the fun last longer.

The only things I can say about that book, so far, is that I seriously missed Defiance and Annette, but also Dad and Papi, that I really love Roane, and that I’m glad that the cliffhanger we were left with at the end of the first book (I mention it in my review of Betwixt) was quickly answered. And that dang, it’s a good book, so far!

Still, I can’t help but laugh at myself for forgetting a release I was so anxiously waiting for!
