WWW – Wednesday, 8 July, 2020

Many of the book bloggers I follow are doing this fun thing every Wednesday, an idea taken back by Taking On a World of Words, which I really like. It is a simple concept, and one that will/should change every week as far as the content is concerned.

What are those WWW?

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

My current read

As mentioned in yesterday’s post, I am currently reading Offer of Revenge, which is the second of Jason Kasper’s American Mercenary series.

Following his last mission, David Rivers is out for revenge against the mastermind behind a murderous attack, and his greatest enemy. His path leads him to an infiltration and a mission deep in Somalia… and finding someone who has betrayed him and his team.

No, I cannot say more, because this would mean spoiling the punch of the first book. All I can say is that it’s a very good book so far (I am currently a third through), and the more it goes, the more I love this series. Yet another thriller that is difficult to put down.

A book I recently finished

In between the first two David Rivers books, I decided to take a break and I seriously could not resist purchasing the third Magic & Mayhem book, A Witch in Time. Because the second one had left me wanting to know more of Zelda’s shrink visits, and more of Mac, Fabio, her three fat obese cats, Sassy, and everyone associated to the Shifter Wanker.

I don’t regret it one bit! It was, as is the case for every single one of Robyn Peterman’s books, laugh out loud inducing, but also hilariously cute, as I wrote in my Goodreads and Amazon reviews (it’s the same in both places, so I’m only linking to the Goodreads one).

What am I reading next?

After I finish with the second David Rivers, I won’t be able to wait any longer to delve into my ARC copy of The Sky Thieves, which is the second of The Spider Heist series. If you want to know how much I loved the first one, you can see my review here.

I have the book since last week, and I have been holding back with great difficulty from reading it right away. And knowing how much fun Jason Kasper had writing it didn’t and doesn’t help my wanting to read it nownownownownow!

You will know more about it on 23 July at midnight, which is when the book comes out, so keep you eyes on this site!
